Ryzen Threadripper 1900X vs Ryzen 9 5900HX benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 9 5900HX is faster than the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 9 5900HX. The Ryzen 9 5900HX outputs less heat than Ryzen Threadripper 1900X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
