Ryzen Threadripper 1900X vs Core i9-9900 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X is faster than the Core i9-9900. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-9900 in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i9-9900. The Core i9-9900 outputs less heat than Ryzen Threadripper 1900X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i9-9900. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
