Ryzen Threadripper 1900X vs Core i9-10980HK benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X performs better than the Core i9-10980HK. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-10980HK in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i9-10980HK. The Core i9-10980HK outputs less heat than Ryzen Threadripper 1900X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i9-10980HK. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
