Ryzen Threadripper 1900X vs Core i5-11600 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-11600 performs better than the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i5-11600 has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-11600. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-11600. Despite this, the Core i5-11600 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-11600 outputs less heat than Ryzen Threadripper 1900X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-11600. The Ryzen Threadripper 1900X also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
