Ryzen 9 6900HS vs Core i9-13900H benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i9-13900H performs better than the Ryzen 9 6900HS. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 6900HS in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i9-13900H has significantly more cores with 14 cores compared to the Ryzen 9 6900HS that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 9 6900HS. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 9 6900HS has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i9-13900H. Despite this, the Core i9-13900H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i9-13900H also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 6900HS has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
