Ryzen 9 5950X vs Core i5-11600K specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 9 5950X is faster than the Core i5-11600K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-11600K in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 9 5950X has significantly more cores with 16 cores whereas the Core i5-11600K has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-11600K. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-11600K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 9 5950X. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Ryzen 9 5950X CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-11600K CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 5950X has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-11600K. The Ryzen 9 5950X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 5950X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
