Ryzen 9 5900X vs Ryzen 5 7600 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 9 5900X beats the Ryzen 5 7600 in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 7600 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 9 5900X has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 7600 has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 7600. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 7600 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 9 5900X. Also, the Ryzen 5 7600 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 7600 outputs less heat than Ryzen 9 5900X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Ryzen 9 5900X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 5900X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
