Ryzen 9 5900X vs Core i9-10900KF benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 9 5900X performs better than the Core i9-10900KF. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-10900KF in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 9 5900X has slightly more cores than the Core i9-10900KF. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 5900X has 12 cores compared to 10 cores found in the Core i9-10900KF. It also has more threads than the Core i9-10900KF. In terms of clock speed, the Ryzen 9 5900X and Core i9-10900KF are identical in this regard. Despite this, the Core i9-10900KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 9 5900X CPU outputs less heat than a Core i9-10900KF CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 5900X has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i9-10900KF. The Ryzen 9 5900X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 5900X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
