Ryzen 9 5900X vs Core i7-13700KF benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-13700KF performs better than the Ryzen 9 5900X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 5900X in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-13700KF has slightly more cores than the Ryzen 9 5900X. Indeed, the Core i7-13700KF has 16 cores compared to 12 cores found in the Ryzen 9 5900X. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 9 5900X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-13700KF. Despite this, the Core i7-13700KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 9 5900X CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-13700KF CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-13700KF has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 9 5900X. Despite this, the Ryzen 9 5900X has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core i7-13700KF.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 5900X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
