Ryzen 9 5900HX vs Ryzen 7 5700X benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 5700X performs better than the Ryzen 9 5900HX. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 5900HX in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 9 5900HX. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 5700X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Ryzen 7 5700X also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 5900HX has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
