Ryzen 9 5900HS vs Ryzen 7 5700X benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 5700X beats the Ryzen 9 5900HS in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 5900HS in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5700X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 9 5900HS. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. A Ryzen 9 5900HS CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 5700X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 7 5700X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 5900HS has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
