Ryzen 9 5900HS vs Core i5-12450H benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 9 5900HS is faster than the Core i5-12450H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-12450H in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Ryzen 9 5900HS has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 9 5900HS has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-12450H. A Ryzen 9 5900HS CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-12450H CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 9 5900HS has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-12450H. The Ryzen 9 5900HS also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 5900HS has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
