Ryzen 9 4900HS vs Core i7-1260P specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-1260P beats the Ryzen 9 4900HS in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 4900HS in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1260P has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Ryzen 9 4900HS has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 9 4900HS has a much higher clock speed than the Core i7-1260P. Despite this, the Core i7-1260P has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1260P outputs less heat than Ryzen 9 4900HS thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Core i7-1260P also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 4900HS has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
