Ryzen 9 4900HS vs Core i3-13100 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 9 4900HS is faster than the Core i3-13100. Despite this, the Core i3-13100 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 9 4900HS has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i3-13100 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i3-13100. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-13100 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 9 4900HS. Also, the Core i3-13100 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i3-13100 has slightly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 9 4900HS. The Core i3-13100 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 4900HS has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
