Ryzen 9 3900X vs Core i9-10850K comparison

In our benchmarks, the Core i9-10850K beats the Ryzen 9 3900X in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 3900X in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 9 3900X has slightly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Core i9-10850K that has 10 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i9-10850K. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 9 3900X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i9-10850K. Despite this, the Core i9-10850K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 9 3900X CPU outputs less heat than a Core i9-10850K CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 9 3900X has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i9-10850K. The Ryzen 9 3900X also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 3900X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
