Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U vs Core i5-1240P benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U performs better than the Core i5-1240P. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-1240P in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-1240P has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U that has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. In terms of clock speed, the Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U and Core i5-1240P are identical in this regard. Despite this, the Core i5-1240P has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-1240P CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-1240P has slightly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U. The Core i5-1240P also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
