Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X vs Ryzen 5 5500GT specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 5500GT beats the Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 5500GT has 3 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 5500GT. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 5500GT has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X. Also, the Ryzen 5 5500GT has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 5500GT outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 5500GT. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
