Ryzen 7 8845HS vs Ryzen 7 9700X benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 9700X performs better than the Ryzen 7 8845HS. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 8845HS in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 8845HS has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 9700X. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 9700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 8845HS CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 9700X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Ryzen 7 9700X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 8845HS has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
