Ryzen 7 7730U vs Ryzen Z1 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen Z1 beats the Ryzen 7 7730U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 7730U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 7730U has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen Z1 that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen Z1. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Z1 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 7730U. Also, the Ryzen Z1 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 7730U CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen Z1 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen Z1 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 7 7730U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 7730U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
