Ryzen 7 7700 vs Core i7-13850HX benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 7700 beats the Core i7-13850HX in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-13850HX in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-13850HX has significantly more cores with 20 cores compared to the Ryzen 7 7700 that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 7700. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 7700 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-13850HX. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-13850HX has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 7700. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 7700 has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i7-13850HX.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 7700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
