Ryzen 7 6800HS vs Ryzen 5 6600H benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 6600H beats the Ryzen 7 6800HS in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 6800HS in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 6800HS has slightly more cores than the Ryzen 5 6600H. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 6800HS has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Ryzen 5 6600H. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 6600H. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 6600H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 6800HS. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 6800HS has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 6800HS CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 5 6600H CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 6800HS has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 6600H. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 6800HS has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
