Ryzen 7 6800H vs Core i5-1240P comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 6800H is faster than the Core i5-1240P. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-1240P in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-1240P has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Ryzen 7 6800H that has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 6800H has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-1240P. Also, the Ryzen 7 6800H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-1240P outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 6800H thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-1240P has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 7 6800H. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 6800H has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i5-1240P.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 6800H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
