Ryzen 7 5800X vs Xeon E-2176M specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 5800X performs better than the Xeon E-2176M. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E-2176M in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 5800X has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Xeon E-2176M that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon E-2176M. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5800X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E-2176M. Also, the Ryzen 7 5800X has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon E-2176M outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 5800X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
