Ryzen 7 5800X vs Ryzen 9 6900HS benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 5800X performs better than the Ryzen 9 6900HS. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 6900HS in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 9 6900HS. Despite this, the Ryzen 9 6900HS has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 9 6900HS outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 5800X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Ryzen 7 5800X also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
