Ryzen 7 5800X vs Core i9-13900H comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 5800X performs better than the Core i9-13900H. Despite this, the Core i9-13900H has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i9-13900H has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 7 5800X. Indeed, the Core i9-13900H has 14 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Ryzen 7 5800X. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 5800X. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5800X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i9-13900H. Despite this, the Core i9-13900H has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 7 5800X also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
