Ryzen 7 5800X vs Core i7-12800H benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 5800X is faster than the Core i7-12800H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-12800H in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-12800H has significantly more cores with 14 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 5800X has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 5800X. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5800X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-12800H. Despite this, the Core i7-12800H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-12800H outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 5800X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 7 5800X also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
