Ryzen 7 5800X vs Core i5-14400F benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-14400F beats the Ryzen 7 5800X in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5800X in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-14400F has slightly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 5800X has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-14400F. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i5-14400F has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 7 5800X. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 5800X has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core i5-14400F.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
