Ryzen 7 5800X vs Core i5-12600KF specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-12600KF is faster than the Ryzen 7 5800X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5800X in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-12600KF has slightly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Ryzen 7 5800X that has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-12600KF. Despite this, the Core i5-12600KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 5800X CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-12600KF CPU because of its much lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
