In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 5800X beats the Core i5-12400F in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-12400F has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 5800X has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i5-12400F that has 6 cores.
