Ryzen 7 5800X vs A10-6800K specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 5800X beats the A10-6800K in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the A10-6800K in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 5800X has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the A10-6800K that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the A10-6800K. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the A10-6800K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 5800X. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 5800X has a slightly higher turbo speed. The A10-6800K outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 5800X thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
