Ryzen 7 5800U vs Core i5-13600K benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-13600K performs better than the Ryzen 7 5800U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5800U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 7 5800U has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-13600K has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 5800U. Also, the Core i5-13600K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 5800U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-13600K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i5-13600K also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
