Ryzen 7 5800HS vs Core i5-13500H benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-13500H performs better than the Ryzen 7 5800HS. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5800HS in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-13500H has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 5800HS has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800HS has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-13500H. Despite this, the Core i5-13500H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The info from our database shows that the Core i5-13500H has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 5800HS. The Core i5-13500H also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800HS has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
