Ryzen 7 5800H vs Core i9-9880H specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 5800H is faster than the Core i9-9880H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-9880H in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5800H has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i9-9880H. Despite this, the Core i9-9880H has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 5800H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i9-9880H. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
