Ryzen 7 5800H vs Core i9-10900X comparison

In our benchmarks, the Core i9-10900X beats the Ryzen 7 5800H in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 5800H has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i9-10900X has slightly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Ryzen 7 5800H that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 5800H. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i9-10900X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 5800H. Also, the Core i9-10900X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 5800H CPU outputs less heat than a Core i9-10900X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
