Ryzen 7 5800H vs Core i7-13650HX specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-13650HX performs better than the Ryzen 7 5800H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5800H in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-13650HX has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 7 5800H. Indeed, the Core i7-13650HX has 14 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Ryzen 7 5800H. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 5800H. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5800H has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-13650HX. Despite this, the Core i7-13650HX has a slightly higher turbo speed. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i7-13650HX also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
