Ryzen 7 5800H vs Core i5-8600K benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 5800H performs better than the Core i5-8600K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-8600K in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 5800H has slightly more cores than the Core i5-8600K. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800H has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-8600K. It also has more threads than the Core i5-8600K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-8600K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 5800H. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 5800H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 5800H CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-8600K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 7 5800H has more L2 cache than the Core i5-8600K. The Ryzen 7 5800H also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
