Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D performs better than the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5700X3D in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. Also, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 5700X3D CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
