Ryzen 7 5700X vs Core i7-1260P comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 5700X performs better than the Core i7-1260P. Despite this, the Core i7-1260P has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-1260P has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Ryzen 7 5700X that has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 5700X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1260P. Despite this, the Core i7-1260P has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1260P outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 5700X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Ryzen 7 5700X also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
