Ryzen 7 5700X vs Core i5-14450HX specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 5700X is faster than the Core i5-14450HX. Despite this, the Core i5-14450HX has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-14450HX has slightly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Ryzen 7 5700X that has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 5700X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-14450HX. Despite this, the Core i5-14450HX has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 7 5700X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
