Ryzen 7 5700X vs Core i5-13500 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-13500 performs better than the Ryzen 7 5700X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5700X in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-13500 has significantly more cores with 14 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 5700X has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 5700X. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 5700X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-13500. Despite this, the Core i5-13500 has a slightly higher turbo speed. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 7 5700X also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
