Ryzen 7 5700X vs Core i5-12500H benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 5700X is faster than the Core i5-12500H. Despite this, the Core i5-12500H has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-12500H has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 5700X has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5700X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-12500H. Also, the Ryzen 7 5700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-12500H outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 5700X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i5-12500H has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 5700X. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 5700X has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core i5-12500H.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
