Ryzen 7 5700G vs FX-9590 specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 5700G beats the FX-9590 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-9590 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 5700G has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the FX-9590 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-9590. Our comparison shows that the FX-9590 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 5700G. A Ryzen 7 5700G CPU outputs less heat than a FX-9590 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-9590 has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 5700G. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 5700G has significantly more L3 cache compared to the FX-9590.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
