Ryzen 7 5700 vs Core i5-14400 benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Core i5-14400 beats the Ryzen 7 5700 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5700 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-14400 has slightly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Ryzen 7 5700 that has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5700 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-14400. Despite this, the Core i5-14400 has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i5-14400 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 7 5700. The Core i5-14400 also has slightly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
