Ryzen 7 5700 vs Core i5-12600HX specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-12600HX beats the Ryzen 7 5700 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5700 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-12600HX has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 5700 has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5700 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-12600HX. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. The Core i5-12600HX outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 5700 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i5-12600HX has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 5700. The Core i5-12600HX also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
