Ryzen 7 4800HS vs Core i7-8700T comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 4800HS is faster than the Core i7-8700T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8700T in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 4800HS has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i7-8700T has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-8700T. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 4800HS has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-8700T. Also, the Ryzen 7 4800HS has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-8700T outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 4800HS thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 4800HS has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-8700T. Despite this, the Core i7-8700T has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 7 4800HS.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4800HS has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
