Ryzen 7 4800HS vs Core i7-1255U specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 4800HS performs better than the Core i7-1255U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-1255U in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1255U has slightly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 4800HS has 8 cores. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 4800HS has more threads than the Core i7-1255U. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 4800HS has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1255U. Despite this, the Core i7-1255U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1255U outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 4800HS thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i7-1255U also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4800HS has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
