Ryzen 7 4800HS vs Core i3-8100T benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 4800HS beats the Core i3-8100T in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-8100T in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 4800HS has significantly more cores than the Core i3-8100T. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4800HS has 8 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Core i3-8100T. It also has more threads than the Core i3-8100T. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-8100T has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 4800HS. The Core i3-8100T outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 4800HS thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 4800HS has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i3-8100T. The Ryzen 7 4800HS also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4800HS has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
