Ryzen 7 4700G vs Ryzen 7 6800U specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 4700G performs better than the Ryzen 7 6800U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 6800U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4700G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 6800U. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 6800U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 7 6800U outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 4700G thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 7 6800U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4700G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
