Ryzen 7 3800XT vs Core i7-12700T benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-12700T performs better than the Ryzen 7 3800XT. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 3800XT in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-12700T has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Ryzen 7 3800XT that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 3800XT. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 3800XT has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-12700T. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. The Core i7-12700T outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 3800XT thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-12700T has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 3800XT. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 3800XT has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i7-12700T.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3800XT has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
