Ryzen 7 3800XT vs Core i7-11700 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-11700 is faster than the Ryzen 7 3800XT. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 3800XT in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 3800XT has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-11700. Despite this, the Core i7-11700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-11700 outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 3800XT thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 7 3800XT also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3800XT has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
